Long description

ATRIUM — Digital Museum of Visual Art is an independent digital museum founded in Riga, Latvia. It was created so photography and visual art can be encountered as exhibitions, not as a stream of images.

In ATRIUM, a body of work is given architecture, light, sequence, atmosphere and a path for the visitor to move through. The artist remains the author. The museum provides the space around the work.

Artists can have a public artist profile, a portfolio and a curated digital exhibition in an immersive exhibition space. Visitors can enter from anywhere.

ATRIUM works with photographers and visual artists to transform authored projects and series into exhibitions that can be experienced online. The museum is being built step by step with artists, visitors and collaborators.
